Microsoft and France Telecom get into VoIP

In the wake of last month’s BT Fusion announcement, Microsoft and France Telecom have signed a deal to develop a combined dual-radio GSM/Wi-Fi mobile VoIP device for consumers.

The handset will be developed using Microsoft’s smartphone platform and marketed to home users by France Telecom. The first products from the partnership should be available within a year.
